Beit Haverim is an open, inviting, and spiritually alive Jewish community, located just outside of Portland, Oregon in Lake Oswego. Beit Haverim began in 1992 as South Metro Jewish Community located in West Linn, Oregon and in 1998 SMJC evolved into a congregation. In 2007 SMJC adopted the Hebrew name of Beit Haverim, expressing the essence of who we are – a House of Friends. We welcome everyone to our Reform congregation of Jews by birth, Jews by choice, and Jews at heart. A congregation where families and individuals experience the sense of Jewish belonging that comes from shared worship, religious instruction, Tikkun Olam, and social events at a location not too far from home.

Thanks to all the Beit Haverim members for the wonderful donations to the Foster Kids Toy Drive. For these children, the holidays can be an especially difficult time away from family and friends. Your generosity provided over 25 gifts for local foster children, making their holidays a little brighter.
We will be collecting new shoes for the next Foster Kids drive. Dates to follow in the weekly bulletin, but start keeping an eye out for sales now!
Be sure to visit our Tikkun Olam Page for more information on this program and others.
